Log history

1696-Feb-9Before the Venetian retreat from the island of Chios, the ship was loaded with goods to be evacuated. Because of strong wind she drifted and struck an underwater rock from the port breakwater. Efforts to save the ship failed; abandoned. Could be captured by Turks but the further fate unknown

Notes

C.A. Levi gives February 1694 as the year when the ship was abandoned at Chios (Scio). The same date is repeated by I.Barbensi after Levi. There must have been a mistake because in February 1694 the island of Chios was still Turkish. The island was taken by Venetians in september 1694. The "Abbondanza and Richezza" could be abandoned after damage suffered on underwater rock only when Venetians left Chios i.e. in 1696
