Princess Charlotte was launched on 14th April 1814 along with her larger sibling Prince Regent. She was designed and built by George Record at Kingston Royal Naval Dockyard, Ontario, Canada. Her first Captain was Sir William Howe Mulcaster who was seriously injured in an attack on Fort Oswego, 6th May 1814.
