GUAYAQUIL (Ecuador)

Spanish Shipyards

This was the Pacific Sea spanish shipyard (Armada del Mar del Sur).

Mostly built to secure the Pacific coast of the spanish domains and the Manila-Filipinas trade route (Galeon de Manila or Carrera de Filipinas).

El Callao (Peru) was their main port or base, most of the ships were built at El Callao, but armed and fitted at Guayaquil.
