Notes

Joined the Venetian Navy as a very young boy. After a brilliant career nominated capitano da mar (admiral), Angelo Emo has modernized the Serenissima navy introducing now types of shipes and improving training of sailors. 1785-1786 he commanded in war against Arabic piracy. With the end of military actions he tried to reform the Venetian Navy according British patterns.
