Danish navy flag, called Orlogsflaget

 

 

Danish ships will be refered by HDMS - His/Her Danish Majesty's Ship - before ship´s name.

These abbreviations will distinguish same ship´s name from different nations and government warships from pivateers or privately-owned merchantmen.

During the period 1509-1814 Denmark was in union with Norway (Kongelige Danske Marine - KDM - in danish).
