Duchy of Courland's ships will be distinguished by the prefix DKS - Duchy of Kourland's Ship - before ship´s name.
These abbreviations will help distinguish similar ship´s names between nations and government warships from privateers or privately-owned merchantmen.

This list includes only warships known by name.
There were many others, and there are records of about 150 ships during the period 1638-1698, mostly built at Windau or Libau.
Among unknown ships, is said to be one 100-guns and two 80-84 captured by Sweden at Windau in 1659, and another 100-guns and a 60 burnt at stocks.
