On 12th September 1643 the House of Commons ordered that Sir Geo. Whitemore Knight, Mr. Beadle, Mr. Laney late Recorder of Ipswiche, Mr. Garnish, Mr. Clearke, Mr. Beaumont, Mr. Aldgate, Mr. Nightingall, Mr. Fassett, Clerks, shall be removed from the Ship called the Hopeful Luke, now riding in the Road of Yarmouth, to Winchester House; there to be kept in safe Custody, till the Pleasure of this House be further known.
